Cycle routes in East Yorkshire and the Wolds
Bracken Track on the National Cycle Route
The beauty of cycling around East Yorkshire and the Wolds is that there are so many quiet country lanes and single track roads that criss-cross the area and provide cyclists with relatively traffic-free riding.
However, the sheer number of them can make it difficult for new cyclists to select and follow a route.
Fortunately, Visit Hull & East Yorkshire and the East Riding of Yorkshire Council have developed excellent maps that mostly keep cyclists away from the busier roads in the area.
Paper copies of the maps are available on request or by visiting a Tourist Information Centres in Hull or the East Riding. Alternatively, the routes can be downloaded in pdf version from the links below:
East Riding of Yorkshire Council Cycle Maps
Driffield Cycle Map: five cycle routes in and around Driffeld
Pocklington Cycle Map: six cycle routes in and around Pocklington
South Holderness Cycle Map: six cycle routes in and around South Holderness *
Goole Cycle Map: six cycle routes in and around Goole
Beverley Cycle Map: seven cycle routes in and around Beverley
Bridlington Cycle Map: six cycle routes in and around Bridlington
* Following the December 2013 tidal surge the road through Spurn National Nature Reserve now stops just south of the reserve's information centre. However, it is possible to push a cycle over the sands for 1km to meet the remaining section of road leading to the point if you check for safe crossing times.
