GHS Rides Results – 14th April 2013

Another good turnout for these rides, which again included a good number of ladies. 73 riders entered over the three distances and at last minute we split the 102 mile ride into two groups, too many to set off at once. It was nice to see many new faces, mostly from the Racing Clubs, but also from newer road cycling clubs such as the Sunday Girls and CRC, as well as riders who support the event year after year.

The weather was kind for once, sunny but very windy, and a tough ride back from the last checkpoint made some enjoyable chatter in the HQ.

Thanks to Jim for helping and taking all the photos; John and Marilyn for help with the signing in/out; and Pete and Rachel who helped with the refreshments.

All profits from these rides go towards promoting cycling events for youths in the Yorkshire area.

Next year will be the 50th Anniversary since these rides started; I know some of you rode the early ones, no names! An extra special event could be put on.

Until then, see this year's results.
