An excellent new cyclist friendly Cafe near Spaldington just north of Howden. Discovered by Tracey and visited on 2 of our EYCTC club runs.

Dudley approved coffee, with free top ups, great cakes, beans on toast, soup etc.

A largish gathering at the 'East Side' meeting place in Dunswell. It was decided to combine the two groups as far as the coffee stop at Sigglesthorne. The medium pace group headed on to the lunch stop at Mr Moo's near Skipsea, back via an interesting meandering route through some underused lanes north and west to Leven and on to Beverley for rehydration at the Travellers Rest in Beckside Beverley. A good cool Spring very social ride. 60 miles.

Introductory Rides – This new category of club rides are aimed at new or returning cyclists and will be led by an experienced club rider. The distance and route will reflect the group ability and wishes on the day.
If members know or meet anyone wishing to ride a short local ride, please contact the ride leader shown on the revised (21/05/16) Sunday Ride List or myself on 07985347588. Initially we plan to hold these rides monthly on a Sunday. They will start at the same time and meeting place as the Medium and Easy paced scheduled rides for that day.

During June and July my wife and I spent an enjoyable 9 weeks touring in Europe.
We rode along the Rhine from Eurpoort to Mainz, the Main to Werksheim, over the hills to Wurzburg where we followed the Romantische Strasse (Romantic Route) to Fussen. We then took a train to Bregenzon the Bodensee and rode the Rhine back to Mainz. From Mainz we travelled by boat to Boppard, rode to Koblenz, train to Nijmegen and then rode the Krommer and Oude Rijn to the North Sea at Katwijk.
If anyone is thinking of touring any of these areas or just want some geneal information then feel free to get in touch either by telephone or email

    Hi Folks

New cafe started up at Storwood Nurseries south of Sutton on Derwent on the B1228. It's not large, being in the owner's conservatory, but the soup, sandwiches and home baking are lovely. So are the proprietors and the dog. Prices v reasonable.

    Open Weds-Sun 10am – 4pm.
