Nige’s ride to Donna Nook – Seal colony.

Ten of us met at the Humber Bridge car park for the ‘mid December’, motor assisted ride to Donna Nook.  After loading up, we drove to Tetney Lock & parked in the Crown & Anchor car park. The weather forecast had suggested brighter & warmer, we set off in to a cold north easterly breeze, dull and around 5 or 6 degrees.  Cycling through Covenham St Marys, Alvingham, S & N Somercotes and to the seal colony at Donna Nook.

The seals are only there during November & December and up to 2,000 seal pups are born there.

After 45 minutes viewing, it was back on the road, returning to Tetney Lock on a more direct route, (using a few dodgy roads / tracks).

Nice coffee & lunch in the Crown & Anchor & good to warm up.

Thanks to Tracey & John for the photos & video.

Great idea to go Nige – well done.
