Peter Wilson

It’s sad to have to report that Peter Wilson, our President, passed away last Saturday 22nd March. Although Peter hadn't done so much cycling in the past few years – age does that to you – he was a pioneer in the fifties exploring continental countries as well as his favourite haunts in Scotland and the Lake District with his wife Maria. Nevertheless he’s maintained loyalty with the CTC, particularly at the clubroom and social functions where he’s presided most efficiently.

His abilities as a photographer will never be bettered and we were often treated to some beautiful pictures at the slideshows, pictures that he’d taken on his travels and which had won him many prizes.

Condolences to Maria and family. Funeral details to be announced.

    Tribute to Peter Wilson

A few details about Pete,he was in the RAF, he lived in Aldbrough for many years, cycling to and from work while he lived there.Taking the social sec job up at an early age, a job he never really retired from, even when he was elected President he still continued to do both.
Both Peter & Maria did the admin at York Rally for over 50 years dealing with all the event entries and other tasks.
He was a brilliant photographer, a member of Stockton upon Tees Colour Society, winning numerous awards, he travelled the country giving slide shows to various DAs and clubs which he really enjoyed.
He was well travelled on the bike at home and abroad; both he and Maria went on numerous CTC Tours visiting France , Austria ,Switzerland ,Italy , Norway, Ireland, and in all usually heading for the Mountains
