Sledmere to Dalby M.A. ride

There was a good turn out of twelve riders for the motor assisted ride, starting in Sledmere & going up to Dalby forest. Reasonable weather for mid September, we left Sledmere around 10 am & cycled through Kirby Grindalythe, West Lutton & on to Yedingham. The planned route to Thornton Le Dale was too muddy, so a five or six mile detour was required. Brunch stop in a busy Thornton Le Dale & then back on the road to Ellerburn.

An interesting trail from Ellerburn to Dalby, with several gates, which we took turns in opening & holding. Then past the cattle !.

Mind the bulls.

On into Dalby forest & a lunch stop at the Courtyard cafe.

Courtyard Cafe.

After a seven mile loop of the forest ride, back on to the trail and heading back to Thornton Le Dale. Phil managed some acrobatics on his bike, which left him with a muddy ride home.

Back to Yedingham via Allerston & then to Winteringham, for a slightly easier climb back to Sledmere.

Recovering after the 57 mile ride, with cakes brought by Ted & Ann.
