I live in the far west of the East Riding in Stamford Bridge. I have sent the following email to the Conservative Group on ERYC. I don’t know if you have anybody looking after cyclists rights and campaigning but you might like to pass this to them.
“With reference to previous emails I was very disappointed to learn from the Yorkshire Post article www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/news/politics/transport-secretary-grant-shapps-announces-extra-ps191m-cyc... that East Riding has only received a relatively small amount of funding in the latest round of government allocations. The amount is only two thirds of the amount given to the City of York, and this is to cover a much larger area. I can only assume that few schemes were put forward by yourselves.
When I have written to you previously with suggestions for improving provision for cyclists, your response has always referred to lack of funding by the government, yet when this is available, in fairly large sums, there is little take up locally.
I would be interested to know what schemes the money has been allocated for and what other schemes are being prepared to ensure that we get our fair share of funding in future.
Your own party has set this policy, so I would expect that the local councillors would be supportive.

During the lockdown (5th Nov ~ 2nd Dec), we are allowed to meet up & ride with one other person from another household, (outside only & maintain social distance).
So please keep me information about cafes that are open & serving outdoor drinks / food and I will keep the café page up-to-date on the CTC website, (its under ‘members area’).
You may just want to go out on your own, but its nice to have somewhere to aim for where you can get a hot drink at this time of the year.
