World Peace Café, Kilnwick Percy

This is the first post of what I hope will be many about the favourite cafés used by East Yorkshire CTC riders. It was prompted in part by an email we received from headquarters. Member Groups were asked by CTC to give "Favourite cafés" within their areas. After seeking advice, I chose The World Peace Café at Kilnwick Percy.

It is about 3 km from Pocklington on the Warter Road. Millington is about 2 km north (an exciting descent) & gives access to, in my opinion, some of the most attractive roads in the Wolds.

The food is very good value, the coffee & cake in particular have the seal of approval of a number of our members, each of which is a selfless researcher (if not actually an authority) on such matters 🙂

Being a Buddhist centre, it is a café with a difference (it is not every day that I am served my food by a monk).

Well worth a "loop" to get there. Details are on their website.

I look forward to reading other posts by members about their favourite cafés.

Popped in today having driven 😮 from the Huggate end of Millington Dale. Must have seen 45 – 50 cyclists on the Way of the Roses / Yorkshire Wolds Cycle route going in the opposite direction.

Very nice coffee, but overdosed on the cheesecake 🙂

Glad it's open again after their summer break.
